Texas Stallions - Summer 2021 Season

We’ve been waiting to hear from the Gulf AAU as to what the 2021 season will look like.
Practice for the Stallions will begin on Monday 12th April. We will start our practices at Oak Ridge 9th Grade @ 6pm. We will practice twice per week - Monday and Thursday. We may add additional practices as required. Our Summer Season will run through July.
The AAU Gulf Region is hosting the AAU Junior Olympics in Houston. We have no confirmation that this event will take place as it is being held in Humble (Harris County) - we do not know if this meet will be sanctioned by Harris County.
The Stallions pricing is also changing this year. Our fees have dropped considerably – we want to remove any financial restrictions on joining our team. All Athletes will be required to pay $30 to cover AAU membership and Administration costs. Paying the Registration fee will allow an athlete to practice with the Stallions for the whole of the Summer Season. To attend a Practice meet as a Stallion, you must either own/purchase a Stallions uniform or own/purchase a Stallions tech tee (white with red Stallions logo). To attend District/Regional or JO Meets, you are required to purchase a Stallions Uniform. Stallions Uniforms are $90. The Stallions Tech Tee's are $20.
The 2021 season is looking different to a normal season. There will be 6 practice meets before District Qualifiers. These will be followed by District Qualifiers, Regional Qualifiers and will end at Junior Olympics. The Gulf Practice meets are not template meets and not open to all age groups. Each meet will be set for a certain age group and the schedule will be set by the hosting team. We have information for each meet that was published last week. We are discussing the best way for the Stallions to attend a meet - we will attend the first meet as coaches and assess the level of safety that is enforced. We will discuss this with the Team and form a plan for 2021.
Our Practices will also be different this year. We will set guidelines for Social Distancing for both our Parents and Athletes. We were successful during our practices last year and learned what we needed to know to bring that forward to this year. We will publish our guidelines for all to follow – we will take our guidance from the medical community and CDC Guidelines. If you do not agree with our guidelines, you are free to practice with another team. All athletes and parents are expected to wear a mask before and after practice. During practice, athletes may remove masks during warm ups/drills, workouts and cool downs. We will manage social distancing on track with our athletes. Parents should stay in family groups and maintain distance from other family groups. All other practice guidelines are standard - hydration, layers, sweat pants etc.

Hopefully and God willing, 2022 will be back to normal business in the Gulf.
